Pedals, cables and controls
Throttle and brake controls must move freely and return reliably. A frayed cable, a weak return spring or a loose clamp can leave the throttle open or the brake less effective. Check cables for broken strands and lubricate them where appropriate, and make sure springs and clamps are in good condition. Adjust the free play so that the throttle closes completely when the pedal is released.
